Meet Your Contractor
Jose came to Austin from Cuba in 1995 after the '94 Balseros Exodus. He and his family settled here where work was plentiful and they would be able to pursue the American Dream.
After over a decade of maintenance, repair and construction work, Jose decided to go back to school to pursue his passion - art. He studied painting at UT and graduated with many people already greatly interested in his work. Now, while running Avila Contracting, he uses these skills to make sure all his work is aesthetically pleasing.
